This is the model for one of the better artificial life games ever created. Partial screenshot here.

Artificial life.

Our fake universe.

Nikola Tesla.

It’s all in my head, yes?

Who cares?

Not I.

Not me.

Not Tesla.

I bought all three Creatures games yesterday from GOG. Last night I stayed up past my bedtime playing Creatures: The Albian Years. I’m reading The Unofficial Creatures Guide.

I am bewitched.

Yesterday I collected as much information and backstory as I could find. If you’re a gamer, you might find the links interesting. If you’re interested in the concept of artifical life, you will might get a hard on as you realize that Steve Grand is a force to be reckoned with. I ordered his book today. He’s on Twitter.

I’ll stop my fanboy blather to suggest (if you are at all interested) that you start your journey with this piece…

The visionary ambitions of artificial life simulators

From there, you go where you go. Have fun.

(Note… I’m running Creatures: The Albian Years on Windows 10 Home, Intel (R) Core i5–2400S CPU @ 2.50 GHz, 16 GB Ram, 64-bit operating system, X64-based processor… no glitches so far.)
