Gus takes the bus
cause it’s a lot less fuss
than cranking the car
cause it can’t go that far.

So the big white bus
that stops for Gus
with a bit of a lurch
outside the old church
where Gus had been praying
while simultaneously weighing
the do’s and the don’ts,
the shalls and shall nots,
those dogmatic trip wires,
a true hangman’s knot,
and that’s why Gus
took the Route 7 bus
but he did get to heaven
so there’s that.
