How To Add Intensity To Your Fiction Writing
Turn on the heat. Then turn it up. You’re in control!
Hey, is it hot in here? It’s really hot. I’m hot!
Lots of all-caps.
Alternate first, second and third person.
I don’t get it. You get it? They got it.
Lots of all-caps.
Slap the shit out of your hero.
OW! What’d you do that for? I was on top!
Lots of all-caps.
Threaten agonizing torture.
I’ll pull out your fingernails you don’t talk! So talk!
Okay! I’ll talk! Well, one day I was out riding my little pony when she spooked at a mud skipper and I fell on my ass… hurt my feelings bad.
And then what?
I looked up and realized it wasn’t a mud skipper that spooked my little pony. It was one of them all-caps.
And then what?
I shot it clean through that hole in the middle of the A.
And then what?
That’s when I saw more of them, coming at me and my little pony. I could barely read the word they spelled, but I think it was ABOMINATION.
And then what?
Last thing I remember is a couple ALL-CAPS walked up to me and spelled, THE END.
Is there room for a sequel?
Not with me there’s not.
