Much of the problem with the gig economy is the “luck of the draw”. Everyone’s reaching for that brass ring (I spent years at it via the internet in the late 80s) but the fact is you either have to be extremely lucky or you have to know someone with pull. Chances for people like you and me are practically nil. Still, the dream is hard to let go. That’s why I regularly buy a lottery ticket.
